Emergency Services

Rusk County Memorial Hospital Emergency Department is a Level IV Trauma Center, providing emergency care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The Emergency Room is staffed with an in-house physician and registered nurses around the clock who are here to evaluate and treat pediatric to geriatric patients with a variety of medical problems.

Our ER nurses have years of experience in the emergency care setting and are certified in the American Heart Association's Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) program and Trauma Nursing Core Certification (TNCC) program.

We have diagnostic imaging and laboratory services, including an in-house CT scanner, available 24 hours a day to aid in the diagnosis of your illness or injury.

If you need to fill a prescription following your visit to the ER, ask about our InstyMeds machine or click here. You can obtain many common prescriptions any time of day with this automated dispensing system.

If a patient requires care or specialists that are not available at our hospital, ground or air ambulance transport services can be arranged to tertiary hospitals in our region.

When discharged from the ER, patients receive printed instructions regarding at-home care and any further recommendations made by the attending physician.
