Skull/Facial/Sinus Imaging

Purpose: Skull, facial and sinus imaging captures various structures within the head. These images are customized to optimally visualize each of these structures.

Preparation: Skull imaging does not require any advance preparation. You will be asked to remove all metal objects such as necklaces, earrings, glasses, hearing aids and barrettes at the time of your exam. Prior to your exam, an ARRT Registered Radiologic Technologist will explain the procedure and answer any questions you have. If you think you are pregnant, please tell the technologist before your exam.

What to Expect: You will be asked to lie down on an x-ray table or sit next to an x-ray unit located on the wall. In order for different images to be obtained, you will be asked to turn your head in various positions. The technologist will review the images and if they are acceptable, you will be free to leave.

Post Exam Information: Your images will be reviewed by a Radiologist and the results of your exam will be forwarded to your physician. Your physician will be able to discuss the results of your exam with you.

Time Frame: 15-20 minutes
